Curriculum
A’dadiyah
This is a one year course and prepares new-comers for the first year of Aalimiyyah, focusing on basic Islamic teachings and recitation of Qur’an.
Aalimiyyah – Academic Islamic studies
This is a four-year intensive course in which Qur’an (Tafseer, Tajweed, Translation), Hadith (Prophetic Traditions) and Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence) is taught.
The course is very comprehensive and covers from Basic English, Urdu and Maths essentials up to the classical sciences of Nahw & Sarf (Arabic grammar) Fiqh, Tafseer, Islamic history, Islamic science, Hadith and Arabic literature. Over the four year period, students are developed from 1st year Arabic till 4th year Arabic. In the 4th year students are taught Home economics (Baking, Sewing and Cooking) and computer literacy, towards the latter part of the year they receive teacher & speech giving training.
“All fingers are not equal”
As the above proverb indicates all students are not alike and not everyone is geared up for academic Islamic studies. For this reason Madressa has formulated within the respective curriculum a basic/standard and advanced/senior level. Wherein girls are finding difficulty in studying the advanced course, we thus reduce the Arabic subjects to accommodate them according to their abilities. They will do Tafseer, Qur’an and Hadith although without intensive Arabic.
After 4 years they graduate and are issued with a certificate in either the advanced/senior or basic/standard level according to the course they have undertaken.
